I have a ewe of her feet throwing her head back grinding her teeth iv have 20 ml of calcium in her iv gave her antibiotics iv mixedup a gruel of treacle and meal and water looks bright ears are up any ideas but not getting better

Might need another dose of the same but without more antib's today. Hope it isn't listeria.

That’s the thing about sheep could be ought, so just treat it for everything and pray.

I’d give her twenty in two places morning an night if she’s flat out, an get the spade out ready!!

Depends on the concentration of the calcium solution. If it's number 5, then it's half the dose/weight for cattle (should be cattle dose on label?). I haven't had to use any number 5 on any sheep before. I only know the calc/mag/dex amount to give when I'm on autopilot, sorry.

I’ve only ever used number 5, 60ml, 30ml left and 30ml right. Most make it but on twice a day checking they can be to far to save BUT only had 1 in my under 7 year olds this year so age and carrying triplets may have been the issue too

She’s fine, she had complications post c section so not quite the same as your ewe.

This ewe is very alert and bright but if over done thwm with calcium in thr past and killed them

I normally follow the bottle, but genuinely had no idea you could overdose them. Another way to die!

Straight into the milk vain, they usually give you a good kick half way through and then run off pissing!

Well ewe lambed three lambs last night 3am 2 living one died but still not up but looking bright gave another bit of calcium y ou people have me feeling confident so hope fully she'll survive lambs doing good sucking a bottle like no mans business

That's encouraging to read . Hope she can soon be persuaded to rise, and get moving. Obvs, keep eye on cleansing, etc. Hope she's drinking well, and rears the lambs

No milking probably with pain! so more pets to rear unless she comes to her milk yeah he has clean ed so fingers crossed
