Ewe with bad scours

Eve Chaps,

I havd a ewe with dreadful scours as bad as it gets really, like brown water...
all the rest of our sheep and lambs are fine what should i do next think it could be cocc?i maybe
a trip over to the vet and get some meds? she is a bit off but not that bad still grazing but spending a lot
of time alone laying down just need to make the right move in case she infects the rest of my flock.

Thanks

Wouldn't think a ewe would be affected by coccidiosis. What's her body condition like, have you done a FEC on her. If individual animal many would worm her without a FEC and then monitor for improvement or investigate further. But a FEC can throw up useful info.

Thanks Greener Grass, She is in fair condition but not great, and i did worm her yesterday on catching her,i have not done fec yet
but will speak to my vet today. Sorry i am fairly new to sheep but have farmed cattle most of my life and just like any good shepard would like to understand my flock better rather than running to the vet every five minutes and learning nothing. Will let you know the outcome.

You checked her bag? If they are bad with gangrenous mastitis they can get blood poisoning and sh!t water. If shes sat down a on her own and its not that, could have eaten something she shouldnt have (no not a fiery curry) dont sound good.

Yes nice small neat bag with no heat or swelling teats clear, yes you may have a point
with eating something bad as i have only just moved them up the top field and i thought i need my weeds but
there is some weird plants i have never seen before ..I must say i have just checked her and her back end has dryed up
somewhat i gave her a shot of antibiotics yesterday and a worm drench still sitting down but looking better i must say..Thanks for that i will have a walk round tonight with my vet friend he is a plant/weed boff
