Ewes being infected with toxo at tupping

A friend has rang me today and asked about what happens to ewes picking up toxoplasmosis Whilst in with a tup , they have just bought a house on the outskirts of a village, the paddock hadn’t being grazed at all this year until they put 20 ewes and a tup in there last week of October all ewes marked in the first cycle but so far 6 or 7 have repeated after 5 days of second cycle , some have held though, they have spoke to someone else and they had said possibly toxo causing them not to hold due to cats from village shitting in the grass etc , personally would be thinking the tup they have just bought is possibly not the most fertile rather than anything else at this stage but they asked me if the ewe would still get in lamb In the next couple of cycles If it was toxo and to be honest I wasn’t sure of the answer so thought would ask on here. My understanding is sheep are affected for approx 3 weeks then they become immune when not pregnant ? If they reabsorb will they cycle again once three weeks passes ? Do they just reabsorb when infected this early Or can they hold then abort later on ? They did also say the neighbouring field had a large firework display on bonfire night So wether that has scared them enough to slip ?

The ewes to repeat may have been going off cycle when the tup first went in so he's tupped them through excitement but was too late for them hold successfully. They have just been re tupped as they repeated. If he continues to tup the rest in the same order they were first tupped I'd be worried.

Similar here this year with more ewes. 78 ewes spilt into 3 batches with 1 ram Each. Out of the 78 Iv had between 30 and 35 repeat after being served. Mixture of ages and breeds. Blood tests have shown they have enzotic abortion in them. Previous tests in past years have been totally clear of enzo but shown toxo so all gets toxo vac each year. Rams been out since 24th of September and have had a few still coming back to rams this past few days. 2 of the 3 rams were tested before hand and were 100% fertile and remaining ram was ok to
