Thinking of replacing our New Holland LM430 telehandler. We already run an old jcb 410 loading shovel that owes us nothing, so having two machines is a bit of a luxury. But one really needs a telehandler about.

Wont do massive amounts of work so don't wanna spend jcb money.
Anybody have any experiences of the LM5040?

Oh. Tbh the 430 isnt cheap in parts but hasn't been too much trouble all in all. Hydraulic pump is now powerless and has hub issues.
Is the 5040 based on a Manutou like the 430?

Hello no the 5040 is a totally different build, made in italy not by manitou.

Many 430 parts are cheaper from manitou than CNH but a few are cnh only. i can help you with the manitou bits.

LM5040 is very poor tilt linkage pin design, very weak.
Joystick position is awful
Parts prices from CNH are outrageous
resale value is next to zero cause no body wants them

What about the hydraulic pump. That manutou or CNH? What kind of price would you say?
