NoooooooDo any of you folks work nights during lambing; or perhaps employ a watchman to do so?
Yes … I think .Do the sheep eat it??
I was looking at the apps, but thought the great and wise on here would knowJust as something of an aside; our daughter has an ap on her phone and she just points said phone at a plant/flower and smart phone tells what the plant is and also gives her some backgound information.
Clever; init?
We lamb the first group inside, check at 0530Do any of you folks work nights during lambing; or perhaps employ a watchman to do so?
We lamb the first group inside, check at 0530
Then do what needs doing , putting ewes and lamb in mothering pens etc , we will be close by most of the day , do last checks at 9pm by head torch, if alls quiet that’s us done
Some folk leave lights on and check through the night , we feed at around 6pm and generally at last checks they are lying down cudding
outside lambing, we go round at 6-30 ish and again around dinner time , then tea time and finally just on dusk
It works for us but others will have their own methods
Have a night lamber here for 14 nights. Not necessarily to lamb sheep really but to make sure they all end up with the right lambs and one ewe doesn’t end up with 18 lambs . When she leaves I spread them out (usually 150 ewe left to lamb) in 30 pens and go home at 9 and back at 4.30, mortality is less than when someone is thereDo any of you folks work nights during lambing; or perhaps employ a watchman to do so?
I'm no longer doing late watches on account of general crockiness, so it's other members of the family who go down at around midnight ~ staying on when there are signs of impending lambing.Do any of you folks work nights during lambing; or perhaps employ a watchman to do so?
Looks rather like it from here. Have you had a nibble? They should taste sour-ish, and have a good "green" flavour. Is this sorrel? Or if not what is it and should it be sprayed or left alone

Oh yes indeed.....Most interesting; thank you.
I have just finished watching an instructional video on lambing and the many problems that can crop up; from hung lambs, through lamb snares and prolapses, ad infinitem.
Of course, you then have the killer crows, foxes, and badgers to contend with, if your flock is lambing in the fields.
