This is the wettest longest winter I’ve ever known. Just seems to be no end in sight

Bloody sheep for you turned out a batch of ewes and week old lambs yesterday afternoon. Farther went and checked them this morning first thing all sound ... gone back to feed them now 1 lamb dead for no apprent reason

Neighbour just sent his weather station results, 16 inches of rain since beginning of Decamber.

6 of those in the last 3 weeks. Unprecedented for us down here.

Whats the best class of antibiotic to give?

I have Alamycin, Betamox, Draxinn

Also have anti inflammatory

They would probably be worth noting if they all survived.

We are having a few slip lambs, all yearlings so I’m thinking toxo atm, the vets out on Friday anyway so will get them tested. He have some dodgy 4 year old straw so could have come from that. Still 18 days to go until due date, worst time of the year for shepherds I think.

I had a yearling slip it’s lambs Friday morning, fortnight from lambing. All jabbed for enzo and toxo. Hopefully just one of them things.

yea its been shocking its cost us 1000s unfortunately , im hust hoping things even em selves out this year

I am starting to get concerned, three weeks from lambing and another ewe has pushed her insides out , she died before I could put her out of her misery , that’s two now on top of two that slipped their lambs

They can be such a disapointing animal sometimes you just think its going right then something else happens with them. Just gotta keep odding on and hope for best

I had the vet out to one that pushed everything out , he said , with this number of sheep your going to get some go wrong.
I am hoping it calms down as we start lambing properly
