How’s this for a cheek. Came in the house last night and went for a shower, leaving my phone on the side downstairs. Just on my way back down, about quarter past eight, hear my phone ringing which my wife answers and passes straight to me. Bloody FABBL inspector telling me he wants to come out at the beginning of next week. I said Thursday or Friday suits better, I’m booked up he says. Away Monday I said, quick as you like he says well Tuesday then. I said I’ll have to see what I have on and get back to him, well ring me back before Monday to sort it out he says so I can sort my week out! Does he think I’m on 24 hour call out for him? There will be a stern phone call at nine on Monday to head office. There’s little enough free time without them harassing you outside office hours. Might ring him about three in the morning see how he likes it

I've dropped beef and lamb this year , so it's not so lucrative for the inspector , therefore they have to fit 2 or 3 in to make a quid .
Also , ring them first , get it sorted , they only ring you when your elapsing the inspection

I've also given up fabbl. I can't see any difference in selling prices, between assured and non-assured.
I don't need the hassle or expense!

In a year like this I think most would do well without fabbl as if you go by live and deadweight recording in the weekly mags deadweight is nearly a quid adrift on the year whereas live weight is only about 20p adrift

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
