What does it say on log book? Some were 'mobile plant' or something that needed a payment to tax.
Farm vehicles are zero road tax.

Has to be 'taxed', but usually at zero rate as said. PITA, but has to be done to be 'legal' if on the road.
If you have the V5 then just do it online with the DVLA.

A JCB what????. If it is a 180 digger then it will probably be a special vehicle class, used to be expensive but no idea now.

Either taxed as a special vehicle at £165 per year(might have went up since Apr 1st),or on limited use which is free,but restricts the vehicle to 1.5kms between land you own. Can't be taxed and free as agricultural anymore.

Mine used to be but was changed years ago by DVLA and they won't change it back. They also changed my 135 to Historic vehicle and will not change it back either. No big odds except that it can only be taxed in person at a PO rather than online.
They closed that agri use loophole for back-hoes years ago.Yours has just slipped through the net...so far.

We can`t advise without knowing what type of JCB and if it`s going on the highway or not... What taxation class on V5 ?
