I have a lot of internal tracks mainly made up of scalpings on hardcore they are starting to need some remedial work after this winter. I know there are companies out there that will come and do the full job but prices start at about £12 a square metre. Is it possible to hire the ripper and crusher..?
Not short of staff at the moment. Anyone done this .?

Theres a company called Reeds (near Devizes), 01380816516 or www.reedsltd.com . They import ,sell crushers etc and also run a contract service . I m sure they may also hire out kit.
I worked for a local to me contractor and this was one service he offered doing farm and forestry tracks. Most important aspect is getting water to drain off track and not sit ie camber or regular gully to allow water off the track. Easier on a slope, not easy on the flat.

I second that, we run an old kverneland slodhalf through, levels it out and roll back down with either a forklift on bald tyres or vibrating roller depending on the amount done. Only issue we have is it takes the camber off so it doesn't drain to one side

Have seen a large rsj with a 3pl frame welded to the top of it used to level lanes very cheaply and effective as will drag stone rather well and just drop it in low spots
