And when an accident happens and kills someone who goes to jail?
The bigger risk is probably the non-autonomous vehicles sharing the road with them. A well designed and maintained autonomous machine will behave in very predictable ways, including obeying the speed limit all the time. Humans do not.

It still worries me too though.

I really liked the way your post says that mechanical failures are quite unlikely to cause accidents, and then mentioned John Deere in the very next sentence...

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

...you haven't seen the 'Wreckers' thread yet, have you... :) going by what I see on there, its only plasticine head gaskets that keep them on all 4....

Haha - must be all those sh!t little "toy" tractors they play with over there . . . :)

Say 30 - 40 yrs ago it wasn't uncommon to hear of tractor say doing a diff or a transmission
In recent times ?
Nah, they all are pretty good & pretty equal. I know of a number or high hour high horsepower tractors of various colours, can honestly say none of them are prone to breakdowns more than others, just usual wear & tear as you'd expect.

honestly, cant think of any " common " faults or issues with any of the major tractor brands Ive heard of

as I said, must be just those sh!t little tractors the poms play with, not real mens tractors :)

You should not mention diff and transmission problems on 30-40 year old tractors, as it may offend one forum member from Cambridge.:D

or cars for that matter
read this forum youd be excused for thinking every new vehicle had DPF faults, or chassis crack or whatever the current thread is . . .
I find the DPF/common rail/head gasket/diesel in sump/transmission malfunction and every other ute problem under the sun quite entertaining for someone who's main mode of transport is a 35 year old L200.:D

Haha, much as I'd hate to offend anyone :)

But, modern tractors are superior in every way, reliability, design, function, efficiency, comfort, safety etc etc than the old sh!t from 40 yrs ago . . .I can't believe the poor layouts, ergonomics & design we just accepted then . . .

True to a point but older tractors don't get flawed by software faults needing expensive dealer updates though :D

Hahahahahaha

He's actually in my part of the world, the next door electorate, but before boundary changes actually covered this area also

His father owned a place next to us when I was a kid

But, coal mining, coal seam gas are huge issues here with a lot of farmer / environmental & aboriginal opposition but the f u king Nationals & Barnaby are that much in bed with the resources companies & have their hands in their pockets, that they have shat all over their traditional constituents ( farmers ) in support of unregulated mining & raping of productive land & aquifers. K unts,
I despise them all & I particularly despise Barnaby the coal loving k unt
@Kiwi Pete & @FonterraFarmer are welcome to him
