The bigger risk is probably the non-autonomous vehicles sharing the road with them. A well designed and maintained autonomous machine will behave in very predictable ways, including obeying the speed limit all the time. Humans do not.And when an accident happens and kills someone who goes to jail?
I really liked the way your post says that mechanical failures are quite unlikely to cause accidents, and then mentioned John Deere in the very next sentence...
...you haven't seen the 'Wreckers' thread yet, have you... going by what I see on there, its only plasticine head gaskets that keep them on all 4....
You should not mention diff and transmission problems on 30-40 year old tractors, as it may offend one forum member from Cambridge.Haha - must be all those sh!t little "toy" tractors they play with over there . . .
Say 30 - 40 yrs ago it wasn't uncommon to hear of tractor say doing a diff or a transmission
In recent times ?
Nah, they all are pretty good & pretty equal. I know of a number or high hour high horsepower tractors of various colours, can honestly say none of them are prone to breakdowns more than others, just usual wear & tear as you'd expect.
honestly, cant think of any " common " faults or issues with any of the major tractor brands Ive heard of
as I said, must be just those sh!t little tractors the poms play with, not real mens tractors
I find the DPF/common rail/head gasket/diesel in sump/transmission malfunction and every other ute problem under the sun quite entertaining for someone who's main mode of transport is a 35 year old L200.or cars for that matter
read this forum youd be excused for thinking every new vehicle had DPF faults, or chassis crack or whatever the current thread is . . .

True, but some people think tractor design peaked in the late 70's,early 80's.....Haha, much as I'd hate to offend anyone
But, modern tractors are superior in every way, reliability, design, function, efficiency, comfort etc etc than the old sh!t from 40 yrs ago . . .I can't believe the poor layouts, ergonomics & design we just accepted then . . .

Haha - along with music, fashion, movies, sport, cars & everything else that happened between the age of say 15 - 25. Rose coloured glasses mixed with nostalgia . . .

True to a point but older tractors don't get flawed by software faults needing expensive dealer updates thoughHaha, much as I'd hate to offend anyone
