Pretty humid & overcast, rain forecast for next few days. Once it's passed, we'll get stuck into harvest
Durum - nothing flash, but at least we will harvest something. A few months ago it didn't look like we would . . .
Chickpeas - considering the extremely dry winter, they not too bad , once again they will be the money maker

Weather here is similar and following a weekly cycle of hot as hell early/mid week then wet and humid end of the week. Been doing this the whole month.
Spring forage crops like sorghum and millet, always a little opportunistic, are roaring out of the ground! Will provide good feed in the leaner, dry months ahead.
Lucerne and Chicory are loving it too. I know, they have been left to flower in my absence. Am going to cut them back once it cools down a bit on Friday.

I do like the fact you blokes put up pictures of yellow golden landscapes and say "looks good after a rain" whereas down here folk are saying how dry it is and it looks like

Most of this guy's farm is fairly well frizzled up to be fair.
Also being fair some of these farmers count on rain happening every month and manage accordingly.... so Nigel has a farm that is yellow
and I have grass to my knees 5 minutes away

We are very lucky with our soils. High clay content, high OM, naturally fertile, self mulching & the ability to store lots of moisture.
Our systems work on stored soil moisture & plants / systems adapted to dry periods, not relying on it to rain every other week

How much rain have you had, every time I look at the satellite pic (not very often I'll admit) there seems to be rain in your rough area.

We've probably had about 200mm since early October - we are a summer dominant rainfall & scattered showers / thunderstorms are relatively normal through the warmer months, along with high evaporation rates of course. However, that was the first reasonable rain since July. The winter just gone & the previous summer ( 16 / 17 ) were both the highest temps & lowest rainfall ever recorded . . .
