It looked ok. Both peas and canola grains were small, but I suspect that’s more a symptom of the season than anything else. Canola has been left a bit long and had started to shed unfortunately, as I said probably should’ve been cut a week/10 days ago or more.

I was hoping to hop on the header for a bit but I got the impression Ben had had a troublesome start and he looked grumpy so I didn’t push it![emoji6] We’ll hear all about it in due course I’m sure.
What seed rate for peas and rape?

Even without rain, the air is still damp, as we are getting quite a bit of air from the sea. "Low cloud with holes", today :meh:

I often think the dew must be a fair substitute for precipitation, so long as you have the cover to catch it (and keep the soil cool so it doesn't burn off).

Looks fantastic  that, friends, is why NZ is home to so many tine direct drills :)

Probably also why so many persist with their 'shitty old permanent pasture',,
all the best under sowing i did was with a disc drill.
the duncun triple disc was a good drill

It's been a bad year for funerals here, I hope I'm not getting dangerous to know!

The most recent was this Monday for an old farming neighbour:

RIP David. A true gentleman.

That's number 7 this year (ages from 52 to 96) and 3 missed :(

Do you class yourself as a coffin dodger now @holwellcourtfarm?:troll:
Yes, for the next 30 or so years hopefully (y);)

I'd be happy to carry one, just not to road test it prematurely.

Seriously, I do see attending the funeral of an old friend or work colleague as the final true mark of respect paid and will always try my best to attend.

The remains of the Empire:rolleyes: , a group of countries that supported (previously called "Great") Britain:facepalm: over the last 150 year and a couple of world wars.
Maybe with the Brexit sudden exit, their business acumen and financial wizardry, trade between Commonwealth countries might mean something.

“might mean something... once again.”

Some would argue Britain turned its back on the Commonwealth when it signed up to the EEC/EU, now it might have a bit of kissing and making up to do?!

I wonder how the prospect of trade with Australia, New Zealand and Canada, and all their unfair advantages, will be received in TFF land?!?!?!

But, since when did this become yet another f**king Brexit thread?

It rained here today...
