Phone says 37c in the words of larry emdur...survey saysView attachment 757246tractor ac is flat out, but jesus h christ it's hot in here:dead:

yeah, I hate sitting in tractor cabs in peak summer
I also get sick of people saying " oh it must be easy with the air conditioning "
feck off
youre stuck in a glass box, on top of about 12 tonne of very hot metal, in the full sun on a high 30's - 40's C day, with the sun coming through the glass at you
AC on full, struggling to cope
AC just about makes it bearable, but it certainly not "luxury" or comfortable . . .

thankfully, im sitting in my house doing the BAS
as there has been no income, only expenses this quarter, Im looking forward to a nice return on the GST ( VAT for the Poms )
Unfortunately, as I have a Tax Debt with the ATO, any GST return just bypasses my bank account & goes in circles back to the ATO, even though I do have a Payment Plan in place

still, its better than being stuck in a glass oven out in the open

re tractor A/C, you really notice the difference in the cab temp ( momentarily ) when a cloud goes over & youre not in full sun

Only tractor that is the exception to that rule is our old 7210 magnum. If I was in that I would have a jumper on(y) I think they must have charged the system with Canadian eskimo farts:whistle:

I had a 7140 magnum. Put a LOT of hours on it & it was a good old bus, but found things I shouldn't have one day when I dropped the oil, so got rid of it quick :). But you are right, they did have about the best AC
Certainly WAY ahead of JD at the time with their tiny cabs & sitting so close to the glass

One thing I do love about the massey is the space on the floor. No other tractor I have come across has room for the little engel

What will that steep of land be used for now. Looks as if it was recently cleared?
Also looks steep :eek:o_O
Yeah, the odd steep pinch. What happened there was there must have been a spring underneath, with "potting mix" swept over the top. The bottom side just sunk, up to the rear mudguard...

just spun his swedes on, and DB is covering it now. Funny soil, it's only had one pass with a Catros and looks like it's been beaten half to death, its probably 10% OM with a pH of 5..

I live in what isnt much better than a tin shed......AC has been on permanently since November. Flat roof on house.....so last few days the sprinkler has been on the roof to try and take the sting out of heat in bedrooms.
I've seen outback stations that have transportable houses like ours that have an actual shed built over the house to keep it shaded...

Our accommodation block had a shed built over house.

House was actually a accommodation block from Sydney Olympics.

Is that ragwort round the feedrings?

If you set stock, or just mow, it seems to come from nowhere!
TBH I haven't seen raggies like that in a while, the place belongs to a doctor and most of the gates just stay open - that's the unfair advantage (I'd want 600 paddocks on my hundred acres)
Same here seems to survive many years of arable cropping then just appear from the seed bank as soon as grass is sown , horse owners and enviro schemes get the best yields though
