A ridge of high pressure builds to the west, A cold northwest wind will bring some sleet and snow showers over northern and western Scotland as well as north Wales. Dry and bright elsewhere with lots of sunshine, although wintry showers may affect parts of the western Midlands. Cloud increases in the west during the day as the winds ease. A weak front will give patchy rain in western areas later.
