Farmers earn more from YouTube than their crops

I'm sure Mucker has got the message well and truly and we can expect a few old donkeys hanging around the yard soon enough. Will it start? videos may be supplemented by videos of said donkeys consuming a variety of unlikely sundry food and drink items: worthers originals, oreo cookies, Irn Bru, can of Guinness, etc etc.

I think I’d rather someone been honest and telling you that u tube helped pay for something than not saying anything

Does it really matter though?

I'm not sure if sometimes social media harms machinery or car makers more than it helps them? All good when it's shiney and working, not so good when it's in bits in a workshop being handled by someone with technical nous who can spot the fact the manufacturer has saved £0.0009 using a substandard or cheapo component or solution?

Does it matter ?
You don't pay to watch YouTube nor do you support the content creator (unless you pay in to a Patreon or similar) so what difference does it make to you ? (Genuine, straight question)
I wouldn't go on a farm and say "Did your livestock business or the rental properties pay for your straw blower ?"
It doesn't matter.
I think a lot of the time it's a case of "I wouldn't put myself on Social media and work to make it a source of income so I don't see why you should be able to"

Well if I could lick my own balls I'd also be doing Only Fans... 😉👌🏼

I don't think we have a right to know what YouTubers spend the money from our ad slogging, but would be interesting to know what they had paid for with the business and what was through the channel, don't get me wrong, both earned fair and square. But it's like when I used to watch this farming life on TV before it became all about smallholders and lesbians I wondered if they all got a free ifor williams.

Again, this is like the 'How much do farmers earn ?' question - there are so many variables.
However, as an example:
Small items (lights, clothing, tools etc) companies will often give you some to keep as long as there is some brand exposure (fair enough) but I would only showcase items I use/would use myself or the audience might like.
There are brands that will pay for the use of your channel and this is where it can get sticky - some are happy for your opinion and honest feedback and there are those who basically give you a script and tell you your opinion.
I have been very fortunate to work with some great companies who fully except that I will be straight up and say it as I see it.
I have also told some major manufacturers to go and F**k themselves when they want me to follow a company line.
Now as for everyone else ? Who knows...

We will all watch your channel more if Hilti send you a fleet of their tools. There, I said it.

I'm in a fortunate enough position that I pick and choose who I work with because ultimately it's my name/brand on the line so I'm not forced to work with companies I don't like or respect just because they're waving money at you.
The other thing is the companies I work with support the hedgerow finds, restorations and 'Will It Sh!t it's guts?' episodes which adds to the variety.

At what point did you notice more companies approaching you? Obviously they can't support every channel on YouTube and there are obviously ones bigger than yours.

There are obviously tons of companies and manufacturers but overall the switched on ones approach content creators who have a solid background and strong reputation.
The 'box tickers' go for the large subscription numbers or those who are popular in the moment.
As I said, I only work with companies that meet a certain level or standard.
There's enough content creators willing to work with the others so it's all good.

Nobody is preaching, I asked a genuine question and was interested in your reply.
