You obviously missed yesterday’s videoWhen are you gonna demo a new chipper. I can think of someone who might be interested in a collab?
Having mowed with single, double and a triple I can say that a double a triple beats them all handsdown, unless the field is so small you can't turn around, say half a hectare. If the gain in capacity is worth it is a whole different matter ofcourse. If it anything like our livestock sheds it is more down to space and with a trailed machine it is not just the turning circle of the tractor but also what you are pulling due to the axle placement and drawbar. It is the reason why I have been finishing up the hedge cutting so I can take it off and stick the straw chopper on the 6610 rather than the Kubota as while the latters turning radius is as tight it is wider and I am not ripping off £1000 fenders or mudguards reversing it up 8 and 9 foot passageways.
For all we know they tried the existing one or the larger one in it before buying it but either decided they preferred the nippiness if the smaller one which is still capable of running their other kit or found the larger one too tight to use if their other Hurlimann breaks down.
Currently the only jobs they have where a larger tractor maybe of more use is mowing and hauling silage. Mowingwise give the size and odd shaped if some of the fields I'd think they would be quicker with 2 tractors each with a single mower than one with front and rear mowers or a triple one. At least it seems that our neighbours use just a single on the silage fields near us now and their triple on the bigger former arable fields and seem just as quick with the one.
Plus if they can hire a trailer and tractor off Olly at a good price for the few days of silage why spend more money on a bigger tractor when you can use it to improve the conditions for the cattle. Which is something that has already likely paid a part in the decision given that grants or not a new shed, new concrete drives, concrete muck store, new parlour etc aren't cheap and you can only spend what you have once and that is neglecting the footbath, handling system and foot crush.

I haven't seen a lot of his vids recently but did watch yesterday's. Tom seemed pretty happy with the new tractor imo. The reasons behind it all seem to makes sense for themFor those that watch please tell me if I'm wrong. It appears Tom Pendleton is suffering the same as many. His dad won't give up the decisions and makeing the wrong choice. The new tractor definitely had no input from Tom
His dad makes me chuckle… he likes to preach a lot about subjects like nobody else has a clue, Tom just stands there nodding, humouring him.For those that watch please tell me if I'm wrong. Bear in mind a lot of his viewers are young or are not from a farming background/ haven't had anything to do really with agriculture at a number family gatherings some who are the 2nd generation off farm though their parents helped when younger have voiced surprise at some things they didn't know about in ag that they heard some have spoken in surprise about various things when I have been speaking to an in law who works as an agent that they didn't realise including cropping rules, etc things that to us are everyday to them they didn't realise. His dad makes me chuckle… he likes to preach a lot about subjects like nobody else has a clue, Tom just stands there nodding, humouring him.
90hp Hurlimann though some I think believe he should have gone FastracWhy is everyone so up in arms about the new tractor, is it a Fastrac or something?

Not me I have heard enough grumble and photos of them on the back of a trailer on a friend's Facebook feed. The only issue I would have with a different SDF make other than DF would be that parts needed in a pinch wouldn't crossover it is why I'd think twice on any make without a local dealer that has a fair sized parts inventory. The bloke has enough problems with an odd ball tractor no one knows how to spell and even fewer would want to buy second hand but you're wishing a Fastrac on the poor bloke as well?
Part of Same Deutz Fahr just not usually sold in the UKI didn't know Hurlimann existed until I started watching Tom Pemberton. Assume they're built in a shed in Eastern Europe. Or is there a parent company?
Tunstall tractors sell a few. Iv seen one or two in leyburn mart. They are a smart looking machine. So a Lamborghini then.
