I watched a bit of Cammy (the sheep game) on farmflix this morning, about 800+lambing ewes,he said he didn't actually know how many acres he has sheep on, but that his annual rent was 80k!!!,I didn't watch much more after that,as I couldn't see the point🤷
Because he dose not want folk to know how much sub received and rent paid is why he dosnet know , except he dose know …..

he said in a podcast that he was only a sheep to the acre.
Assuming that mean a ewe to the acre then he's about 800 acres at £100 per acre. Maybe he's counting ewe lambs in that too as I think he lambs them as hoggs

Yes he did , he also said he didnt want to disclose rent paid as it wasnt fair on land lords and would give Competitors advantage . Understandable .

Can someone explain “luck money” in a market?
Is it basically you give someone money to buy your stock or have I got the wrong idea here??

Thank you 👍

Of course its not compulsory, and you give ad much cash as you want. Also customs vary around the country a bit.

I don't give any on fatstock but store cattle buyers around £4hd.

Dad went to the market in northern Ireland and they hold up the cash in the box, of how much luck they will give back.!

Then you have the big blackface and swale sales etc where allegedly a lot of £££ goes back to the purchaser in luck!!

Ironic- with fudging sheep you'll need all the luck you can get.

Tom pemberton thought people where going to pay more money for his poor quality cattle because he’s on YouTube, it don’t work like that at market pal
Bit harsh calling them "poor quality cattle", personally thought they look very well looked after and a credit to him, he was never going to get top price if the majority of the buyers are looking for Holstein milking machines.
