Couple of threads got me thinking....... any body on here buy in to these shares at the beginning ,about 20 years ago, and now have any idea what those shares may be worth? PM me if you prefer discretion.

Yes, I was in at the beginning. Last year I believe was the first dividend of 10p per share.
It is well run, but like anything to do with the meat trade, it is a massive turnover for a very small return. The last two years turnover has been around £96 million, with profit this last year of only £585K. Last year £902K.

Are they worth any more, personally I doubt it on the basis of dividends. However shareholders funds are now over £10 million most of which is in retained earnings which has been reinvested in the business.

Most of the original shareholders wanted to make sure there was an abattoir that was on our side!

Quite right Frank , so I was just wondering , we bought in to the premise of the 'on our side ' abattoir but have we really got anything to show for it? I know they are exporting like mad but is that what is really keeping the trade high or just market forces and are my shares , few that they are. worth any more than I paid 20 years ago when I could hardly sell my lambs and couldn't give away cull ewes?

I don't begrudge my investment all those years ago, although I believe those in Wales have benefited far more than ever I have.
However any non Irish business in the marketplace has to help the trade for all of us.

We all know what will happen if the markets get killed off and at least FF do buy out of most markets, unlike our supermarket abattoirs who are not "allowed" to source from markets. However I am not sure where they are getting their supplies at the moment!!

So ,as a struggling tenant farmer distant from the benefit of FF how much could I liquidate my shares for if any one was interested ?
