East Anglia Weather:

Status : Amber (Convective Rainfall)

Forecast: Fairly cloudy this morning with some spells of showery rain, these perhaps sharp and a little thundery, especially in the south. Heading towards this afternoon, spells of sunshine will develop alongside frequent, heavy showers. Showers may become thundery with the risk of lightning, with the hourly rainfall totals of 15-20mm achievable in the heaviest of showers; 24h totals of 20-30mm will be possible in places where multiple showers occur. A blustery day too, with gusts approaching 40mph in more exposed locations. Drier through this evening and tonight as the showers fade away and long clear periods.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
