I think most of the Mr Silly's work for Red Tractor or similar organisations, a few may make it into farming but doubt they would last long. Those that take the Red Tractor route would usually be found at the top of the organisation very quickly.

Reminds me of the old man I met in the doctors waiting room between Christmas and New Years year before last I think. He'd met a "young, trained farmer" who told him (at that time) he was glad Winter was over..................

We all know one or more. The SFP and generational [read: cheap] rents are the only thing that keeps them going.

I have a love/hate relationship with that book. It is so bad that I've decided it is actually a parody.I'm aware of one or two Farmer Sillies and am glad not to have to deal with them directly.

Keep up at the back . Most FBTs are decided by how much folk are prepared to pay irrespective of the ACTUAL earning capacity of the land .
