Just looking through the fund to see if anything fits with what we need. There is an option for a control panel for a continuous grain drier. As these come with specific criteria which we need to meet. The control system is easy enough but the awkward part is it needs to be accessed by a mobile phone. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that does this?

Anyone know who to approach for help / guidance on grant item FETF115 re wireless repeaters and FETF108 re thermal image camera? Not sure if these are the correct items I need but want to install cameras for livestock monitoring but the Wifi etc here has not got a good enough coverage.

sorry to hijack, just wondering if anyone knew the answer. if i apply for a 6m direct drill but then only end up buying 4m can i just claim for a 3m direct drill (£12k) instead of the 6m (£25k) i originally applied for?

I suspect it wouldn’t be allowed as it’s a different code. Give the guys a ring, I had lots of issues with delivery with last years grant and they were very helpful and everything was sorted in the end.

Trouble is now, it's going to be a game with certain items to get them on farm by September.

Things like direct drills and so forth you can't just flick a switch and manufacturers make them overnight.

Then run the risk of commiting to buying said expensive item that has probably gone up in price and then not getting the grant equals double whammy.

Of course there is always the opportunity of easy money, buy the most expensive bit of kit you can afford, claim the grant, mothball the piece of equipment when it arrives & sell it again as soon as the grant arrives? Seems like easier money than farming!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
