A lot of the maize seemed to be at different growth stages, is it double cropped?
Is the alf alfa grown as break crop?
Sorry for the all the questions just interested how they farm in different countries.

If irrigated for grain sown early to get grain ripe saves drying charges,
If for silage sow late and get the grain fill with autumn rains save on irrigation.
Luzerne grows well on poor free draining land for feeding goats and the like. Only input is potash so qualifies for organic and legume subsidy.

If you see maize at different growth stages it may be growing for seed rather than fodder or grain.

maize is sown around here from April 25 until July- depending on farmers work load/organisation

plenty of uk “buyers” failed to get visa’s so couldn’t complete, so not much point pushing in the uk these days

i suppose a typical example might be, a 120 ha farm with 70% borrowing and a young family ; you will never to a plausible plan that shows enough income to be valid for a visa after loan repayment. No borrowing and you’ll be fine but that’s not very typical.
reflecting on this though, maybe it’s just as well as before, the dreamers could come without a visa … then fail. We were (well I as my wife isn’t a Brit) thé forth British owners of our home farm in 15 years

Lots for sale though marketing is rather odd, I always seem to be the last one to know when something is sold.
The SAFER is supposed to be a government quango helping young and small farmers get first choice of land available but also seems to operate as France's biggest land agents. Their marketing site should give you an idea of what's available.
Is there anyone in France who could ship me wheat seeds? I live in Michigan United States. I would really love to grow some wheat varieties from France, I heard that French wheat is much better than U.S wheat. My email is [email protected]

funnily enough, I see my future (semi retirement) growing perennial wheat, which is supposed to be available in the US, but we haven’t found an availability yet
