never say to a farmer, "now really, I should be wearing gloves for this..." when trimming a cows hoof with a newly sharpened knife. You know what happens next....

(and I do it for a living!!)

I wonder how long it would take you to get on here. It was a bit daft. Lol

Yes thought I'd check it out and found this thread interesting. I have lots of stupid things I've done that I could have chosen from....

I could have mentioned the time we had manually extract a cow from my hydraulic crush because the 'electrics had blown'. Not straight forward! It was as we were packing up that we found that the switch was in the 'off' position!

When you've finished harrowing your field with a 6 metre harrow, switch off your favourite Led Zepellin track before you reach the gate. It helps to remind you to fold it up :(

When putting round bales in the shed to bed the cows, make sure you lift the loader enough so it doesnt catch the gate and pop it off into the yard and let the cows out

When sawing tips of horned sheep, dont let go till you have done both. (still got the lump on my shin bone after 5yrs)

When you employ a shearer who almost severs the jugular of the first ewe, because "they arent used to anything heavier than swales" tell em to bugger off and get someone who can do the job. 2 tups with severed pizzles got them packed up and back in their land rover PDQ:mad:

When you are helping the local contractor and he delivers you to the job in a transit crewcab, dont forget to shut the rear nearside door, which you just exited, before he drives off.
