A ridge of high pressure extends through the UK on Saturday with an area of low pressure west of Ireland. Various fronts in the west will be edging eastwards.
A misty start with some fog patches in places, these slowly clearing. Showers and spots of rain in western areas with drizzle over western coasts and hills. The cloud shrouds hills too.
Coud in the west will be edging east and as it does so it will meet warmer conditions in central and eastern areas, with showers then developing. The showers turning heavy and thundery, mainly in the Midlands, Wales and NW England as well as Ireland. Mostly dry in the east although a risk of showers here too.
Winds SE 10-12kt (F3-F4) in Scotland, S-SW 10-12kt (F3-F4) in the south.
SUNDAY

Low pressure west of Scotland with thundery troughs spreading eastwards during the day.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms in west, these intensifying during the day with most in the western Midlands, eastern Wales, northern England and Scotland.Further heavy and thundery showers in Ireland with low cloud and mist over western coasts and hills.
Brighter and drier in central and eastern areas after morning mist and fog has cleared. Mist and fog at times in the English Channel with some showers in the west.
Winds S-SW 10-12kt (F3-F4) in the east becoming W 10-12kt (F3-F4) in the west.
