Fastrac non start

2003 Fastrac 2135

No power to the fuel solenoid on the injection pump at ignition on or cranking.

All fuses check ok, all lights come on on dash etc, fitted a brand new ignition switch but no change.

Any suggestions on where to start looking?

It doesn't help when all the wires are bloody yellow.

I've been jabbing it with the DMM between downpours today, of course it's parked outside and in the midden too as a bonus...

Anyway, much fiddlef**king around with the multiplug on the front of the cab has produced results.

No corrosion in it or anything like that, I'll go back into it on a dry day and fully clean and lube it I think.

We're going again anyway

Have you tried a temporary permanent live direct to the injector pump that way you can get the tractor to start and confirm it’s somewhere on the wiring loom

Ending in 5 on the bonnet i am right in thinking its. The perkins not a cummins
As above connect a live from battery and feel/hear the fiel stopper clunking amd feel it when cone ting -disconecting to see if it not siezed up
I believe if you take it out there may be a spring in there you can remove then put it back in and it should start
First off when it is turning over os it smoking out off exhaust at all
I mean put the solenoid back in with out spring but there is doferent fuel pumps so not all the same

I've had a couple issues on my 2140 due to the cab bulkhead connectors. One was where one pin pushed out back of plug and therefore wasn't connecting, pushing the wire back into the plug sorted it. Might be worth looking to see if you've got this happening.

Did a days silage carting, for contractor, with 1135 alongside some fendts and apparently used less diesel than they did [emoji6]

Yeh its daft when all these modern ozone friendly engine use more full than the old smokey ones
I believe its because they put more fuel in to keep temperature down as they run a higher temperature so burn more efficiently then off course now there is ad blue to put in also

They use quite a lot of fuel keeping exhaust components hot, especially on DPF engines, they need extra fuel to burn the soot off...
