Thinking of repairing a New farm Track or Access Road?

Based within 90 mins of Avonmouth or Micheldever?

Why pay £60/£70 per tonne for Asphalt Binder Course when HBM or Foam Base works just as well?

Collect Rates

HBM – Ex Works @ £5 per tonne & Foambase – Ex Works @ £20 per tonne

Delivered Rates up to a 25 Mile Radius from our Depots

HBM - £11 per tonne & Foambase - £26 per tonne

Looks interesting stuff . What sort of volume/tonne ? Recommended thickness on top of existing pre-compacted surface? Does it bind to existing tarmac?

Say you had an existing tarmac driveway full of potholes what prep is required before topping with your product?

Sorry - please can you clarify exactly what these 2 products are, and elaborate on their use and best applications in terms of what can realistically be achieved with them and at what average cost - not convinced i'm googling the right things. Thanks

Good afternoon,

Please see answers to your questions -
  • If you go on 2.2 tonne per cubic metre
  • Recommended thickness - This is based on the requirement/vehicles using the Road and the condition of the existing road but if you look at at an average of 150mm
  • If you were to lay onto the existing surface you would need to use a bituminous emulsion to act as a bond coat (the same as you would if laying asphalt)
  • We would need to see the site/existing road to quantify what regulating/repair is needed but generally you could break out any soft spots, repair and regulate up to the existing road layer then over lay. Alternatively, dependant on budget if badly potholed you would plane off the existing surface, leave in situ regrade and compact.
  • The most important thing is to always make sure any surface water has somewhere to go, i.e. put in a camber or sufficient cross falls.
OCL offer FREE quotations and Site visits, I hope the above information is informative and helps - I would be more than happy to come and visit site if this helps?

Please can you verify the images: i'm guessing the first 3 photos are Foambase, and the last 2 HBM?
Can both materials be put through a paving machine and / or can it be sensibly laid without a paving machine? Thanks

Afternoon Robert
All photos are HBM, some have been rolled up the others are gone straight through a paver.

Yes you have the option to lay through a paver or with a JCB and digger bucker or even hand lay depending on the size of area.

What is an average price per sq m supplied and installed?

Good afternoon without meaning to be difficult every job is priced on its own merit as you have a fixed labour and plant day rate (for a paving machine and gang) then it is dependant on total area and tonnage of material to be laid, so the sq. meterage rate will be a lot cheaper for 2,500m² than 500m².

Do you have an approximate area in mind or if easier i'm happy to drop by and offer a free no obligation quote?

Or feel free to email me directly with any pictures, suggested depth/spec to -

[email protected]

Thank you

Would your products stick it as an area of hardstanding where vehicles will be turning etc or is it just really for roads and trackways?

Good afternoon and thanks for the info request.

Yes it will work and be a good solution.

It isn't concrete and isn't Asphalt but it is half the price!

Again, happy to drop by for a no obligation quote or even just to discuss a few ideas?
