We do home mix and have just added beans into the mix and less wheat but the same amount of oats. The 18 month cattle refuse to eat it but the 12 month old ones have started to eat it. I even kept less silage in front of the older ones to incourage them but no joy.

it tastes bitter, use a bit extra molassis till they get used to it. bloody good feed though, always felt it punched above its weight .

I stopped using molasses because it warmed up in the bags , can you buy it in small drum's?

Personally never liked beans or rape for protein, usually bitter and the cattle won’t eat enough

Try Dallas Keith at Witney they will send a drum on a pallet, or they used too anyway.

It’s a by product of the vegan produce so may as well use it

I have fed beans as 10% of the ration dm with no problems. Current ration they are 5% with 5% rapemeal, intakes unchanged. 3% fw of molasses also.
I’ve never fed soya.
