Feed Mills / Red tractor grain ?

There was plenty of imported non RT assured wheat that went into UK feed mills in the SW recently to produce animal feed for RT farm assured livestock.

The grain merchant trade (one big player in particular) moved it around as they were a “bit long” in imported wheat destined for biofuel industry in UK once they shut down.
Had a negative impact on local SW market for assured wheat at the time.
Just shows the duplicity of the trade and scheme when it suits them

This needs reporting to Trading Standards as they are doing farm inspections for produce that enters the food chain either directly or via animal feeds. I should know as we had one las autumn. Very thorough it was as well and similar to farm assurance.

The whole fumigation of wheat destined for ensus rubbish that is spouted amuses me, even down to a merchant admitted it and a haulier told me.

As some of you will know we run wagons to aid our farm efficiency and provide a diversification income. Due our proximity to teesport and ensus there aren’t many ships in destined for ensus or other local stores that we don’t get involved with. I have yet to deal with a ship that hasn’t been fumigated with aluminum phosphide proffesionaly at its loading point infact one of the destination that we take grains to will not allow the load in to be tipped without it’s appropriate fumigation certificate attached to its grain passport. I reckon the ship full of bugs is a case of Chinese whispers. You may find the ship failed is gas test, the test for levels of aluminum phosphide left before starting to unload. Any unloading will have been delayed due to this.
