Been offerd cabbage at £25 for 3/4 ton. Per box. How good is it for in-lamb ewes 3 weeks from lambing and for cattle through a tub with silage?
Cabbage is hell of a feed , used to grow a lot of cow cabbage also , sheep go crazy for itBeen offerd cabbage at £25 for 3/4 ton. Per box. How good is it for in-lamb ewes 3 weeks from lambing and for cattle through a tub with silage?
Great feed, but it decomposes really fast and it will be stinking in no time. You'll need to keep it really fresh for it to be safe for in-lamb ewes.Great feed, have fed it to in-lamb ewes in previous years, sounds a bit expensive though. They will not keep long with these temperatures.!
I know all about that Going from eating cabbage to tipping a batch of ewes on a wet hill is a recipe for disaster Very hard to put flesh back on a ram after cabbageVery good feed the pedigree men feed it to rams.
Yes your right same when you buy a new bull thats been stuffed with meal.I know all about that Going from eating cabbage to tipping a batch of ewes on a wet hill is a recipe for disaster Very hard to put flesh back on a ram after cabbage
That's why I stopped buying at sales Prefer to go to a farm and see how the breeder is feeding themYes your right same when you buy a new bull thats been stuffed with meal.

I can only think the OP has been offered horticultural type cabbages Savoy etcetera as there does seem to be a glut this year but you've got me on the 'Cow Cabbage'.
