Would an AG despenser feed trafford gold or similar along a feed barrie? Around 500kg/day. Thinking of buting one to bed cubicles, just thinking it might have another use!
We’re doing it with a home-made mix but I wouldn’t recommend it. We’ve had to put limiting plates in it and it does the job, but it’s such an arse we’re looking into alternatives. I don’t know the material you’re working with but if it runs too well you’ll struggle to keep it in and if it doesn’t flow terribly well then the worm-augers tend to lock up and you’ll struggle to get it out!
I,ve used mine a couple of times to feed rolled oats , no problem with it running out or anything like that , the trouble is feathering the loader joystick enough to make it come out slow enough to not over shoot the trough . This would be easily solved by adjusting the flow controller on the AG but then it would be too slow for bedding cubicles , what you would need to do is fit an external flow controller that can be easily adjusted by hand
Augered bucket would be a bit more robust and suit the job I would think. Some of them are quite complex and do mixing and all sorts. Chap I know uses one and gets on well, much cheaper than running a full blown TMR wagon.
