Fella front mower rpm/pto direction

Just bought a fella km250f, she is of an age, theres no info saying direction of pto or pto speed.

Being a drum mower there aren't any gearboxes so guessing 540 but front pto normally is 1000 rpm.

Guessing anticlockwise sitting in the tractor seat for pto direction. Any help appreciated. ?

You should be able to work out the pto direction by turning the drums. They will rotate towards each other. Or are the blades directional.

There used to be good stuff for fella on the RECO website but guess it will be gone now.

I have turned it, I have a rough idea what way, that said, your theory won't work as there are 3 drums [emoji86] if it were 2 of 4 it would be easy, made to test me I think. [emoji849]

Does it throw grass out from the outside row onto a previous cut one like the old claas 3 drum mowers?

No direction on thhe blades?

Possibly doesn't matter which way they turn.

blades aren't cranked, I would say the outer drums rotate inwards and the middle just cuts but not feed. Not clear though. Also, pto speed is unclear. I'm guessing 1000 as it's front. Need to make sure before getting front pto fitted.

Not Fella, but assuming that all drum mowers of that age have a similar design...
I've got an old Deutz Fahr drum mower sales leaflet and the 3 drum, KM30F has 2 drums that spin anti clockwise and 1 drum that spins clockwise. PTO speed is 540 or 1000, but it doesn't say whether it can be changed by say reversing a gearbox and the drum speed is 2000rpm.
Spin the drums while watching the shaft. If the shaft does 1 rotation for every 2 rotations of the drums I'd say it's 1000rpm, 4 rotations of the drums to 1 of the pto I'd say it's 540rpm.

I would say that makes sense, looking at it from where the pto connects, the right hand and centre drum spin anti clockwise and the lady drum spins clockwise. The pto shaft then spins clockwise looking at it.

Are you sure drum speed is 2000rpm that seems high.

Seem to remembered a drum v disc mower article I once read and iirc both types of mower had a similar blade cutting speed. Discs spun much faster (hence bolted blades) to achieve same blade speed as they have a smaller circumference. Drums spun slower due to larger diameter and therefore bigger circumference.

Drum speed depends on the size of the drum.
From the Deutz Fahr leaflet I'd mentioned earlier

Looking at the drum fella, I wonder if they supied deutz for a while, the reason I say that is mine is a km250f and also looks exactly the same as one that's on eBay. It's identical.
