Fencing posts

Hi all - got a fair amount of grant fencing to be carried out. Had been thinking of using clipex posts for obvious reasons but robinia posts have been suggested. Any one had any experience with robinia posts and have any ideas on longevity. Thanks in advance.

Yes that’s what I’ve been told supposedly 25 year life in them but not heard of anyone actually using them

There were some on display at the sheep event at Malvern recently. They were certainly heavy/solid, so I can see the staple comment being correct (and the rep said as much).

Obviously they were a few straighter ones picked out for the stand, but would look better across a field than a row of galvanised metal stakes IMO.

Dropped a tree over the fence today, benched it on an old trunk. Some pics. So far so good with the Robinia. Only in one year at the moment. Definitely need a nail gun as it’s hellish hard. 🔨🔫
