Fendt 615 crankshaft

I've possibly got the chance of buying a fendt 615 with a knackered crankshaft on the cheap. I believe it's fitted an MWM TD226-6 engine.
Does anyone know if this engine was used in a lorry or anything else which may be easier to find? Thanks in advance!

I doubt it, your best hope would be a Renault tractor using the same. MWM built engines to a cost, go to them with 5k they would build an engine to that value or 8k would build a different version of seemingly the same thing.

It will need a rebuild, or at least factor that in to your thought process, before buying.
If it doesn't so much the better. But if the oil pressure dropped due to excessive clearance in the crankshaft bearings, everything was starved of oil. On the plus side, your old crankshaft might take a grinding, if there are oversize/undeersize shell bearings available? What might be a cheaper option would be a complete secondhand engine you heard running and checked over before buying. That way you know the final bill. Very few fitters will take chances when fixing internally, so expect to have to replace parts.

Thanks Mursal good advice as always! Possibly going to go have a look today so I will have a better idea of what the damage is. If we do buy we will more than likely going down the rebuild route as finding an engine here in Ireland/UK won't be easy.
