Fendt 724 value

We've been to look at a immaculate 2014 724 profi plus with 850 hours on the clock. Tyres are 650 or 710 on the rear both options at 80% thread and 600 fronts. Otherwise its standard specification with front linkage and 2 spools plus 4 spools to the rear. We've got a price which we think is high so what would the forum members suggest a tractor of this age and hours is worth. Its due a service at 1000 hours, any idea how much will that cost? There is nothing wrong with it and we've spoken to the previous owner who's traded it against an 800 series as he wanted a bit more power for tillage work. Its almost in 'as new' condition and comes from a dealer with 3 months warranty.
Is it at a Fendt main dealer or not?

These used Fendts are silly money, especially given the way the price of new Fendts is dropping and dropping. For the money banded about here you could buy a brand new vario tractor of a different breed with warranty and finance. I know what I'd do.

I think the whole "Fendts hold their value second hand" thing is just hype, its all relative to new price. They depreciate no less than any other leading brand IMO.

the classified ads don't back that up ?

and Fendts cost no more than JD's new or according to a recent post by another member no more than a NH either - really not sure why this myth persists when there is so much evidence to the contrary ??

judging by prices dealers are advertising stock at had I bought the almost equally priced 6210r's instead of the 724's I would be significantly worse of today

i don't understand what Fendts are so expensive 2nd hand compared to others but it seems to be the case they do sell for more used than a equivalent spec and aged tractor of another brand and the new price REALLY is not significantly different

You are spot on when we looked at a Fendt the second hand value thing was rocked out again like a tired old cliche, but even the salesman said that once you are in the system the cost to change is more or less the same as changing any other make for the same make so JD for JD or NH forNH.

don't let the actual numbers get in the way of a good salesman story though hey ! they aren at all bias are they ;)

to change my 2 year old 724's for new 6210r's today at market prices would cost nearly twice as much as changing them for a pair of replacement 724's based on the ACTUAL numbers I have been quoted for a new 724 or 6210r recently and the 2nd hand values of those models in the various classifieds

New prices have dropped though on all models, I'm not looking to trade in anything but might be adding another tractor and expect some serious pencil sharpening if I do, its very much a buyers market right now

As I've said before I priced Jd to fendt 18 months ago and it was around 30k more than a new Deere. I'm sure the market has changed massively since then.

I've been running deere since 96 so i presume i would get better discount then say a new customer, when i had the price for 720 in august the rep told me if i was already a fendt customer he could take another 5-6k off!!! i think thats wrong and they should be one price for all and that applies to all brands,i said to rep they should be encouraging people to change brand not lifting their leg

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has very recently bought a 724 or had a quote because what I'm being quoted for one at the moment hasn't altered since the last one I bought in March 14. The quote I've had for a JD 6215r is over£10k cheaper. I already run Fendt so I'm not seeing the fendt loyalty scheme that @Ducati899 speaks of.

Small question, why are you all trying to quote a215 HP tractor against a 240 HP tractor, the Deere only gets up to the same power levels on transport n power drive work..surely you should be quoting the two together on same horsepower out of fairness.

I'm not saying their the best and could possibly break down same as all. I was happy with my deal and very happy with tractor. Yes it has lost money and with the latest pressure on farming this has possibly been accelerated , but I think it's across the board I would doubt anyone owns a tractor or machine in their yard that has not come under pressure on its value.

I agree it's hard to find direct equivalent models as a 724 has no power boost where all others do. I think the Deere is quoted as 215hp and 255hp fully boosted . Would it be a fairer to compare a 724 to a JD7 series? I don't think it would
