I am referring to the awd concept on 1000 series and now on new 700s...after spending 6k machine hrs in the seat with this transmission concept I find it hard to do without
This your on about
Fendt VarioDrive stands for stepless, dynamic driving at any speed from 0.01 to 37 MPH (0.02 to 60 km/h). The front and rear axles are driven separately. Thanks to an intelligently controlled all-wheel drive clutch, manual control of the 4WD system are no longer necessary. Additional comfort is provided by omitting the driving range switching I/II. The pull-in turn effect of the VarioDrive enables the smallest possible turning circle to be achieved.

The 8s has the same transmission, variogrip, the engine is from the same brand and possibly better cab. Some softwear differences maybe
Reality is software is the big difference between brands and also specs within a brand/model these days. Mechanically there may not be as many differences as you think but the software controlling it can make a huge difference. Very very few will actually make the most of the software available but if a tractor is to be bought and used by someone who can and will make the most of it it's likely what sets fendt apart from the rest and why they sit top of the agco tree.

The 728 engine specs they never mention the 303hp bit do they.
Power ECE R 120
303 hp (with DynamicPerformance)
Max. Torque at 1300 rpm
1,450 Nm

8S Massey 305vt is by comparison 305hp but only 1280nm max torque but its the older 7.4lt engine.
Valtra Q305 is the same max hp & torque as the massey.

Think if you look in the spec of the motor its no were near the same engine , its not just deck a plate motor, all so the gearbox is not the same as in the MF & Valtra , The Red Mist boys will tell you this but it is not & the software for it was not made by Toys R Us like the the red ones , Price is about 280k with 8000 hours warranty & tyre inflation on it ,take all these away & your MF & Valtra will be in the same area as it on price , but then you have to look at what the Mf & Valtra tractor is worth second hand !!! look at the second hand value of a 8s ,

Theres a big difference in quality and finish in a fendt to a massey or valtra, a 10,000 hour fendt is still a good tight tractor whereas a massey, valtra, case,nh etc will be well shook and have plenty of squeaks and rattles, imo the next best in this light is jd

The Deere may be next best but in my experience my 9000 hr Fendt drives and feels like the day it was built. The 8000 series deeres with the same hrs haven’t. Not even close

I had this arrive just before christmas and so far so good. Comfort is far better than the 724 I had previous. 130 hours on the clock already and Feels very lively. Getting used to the new screens is taking me more time. Mine was basically full spec minus vario grip as it isn’t something I don’t require but was no where near the 280k stated but I had ordered it in october 2022.

What jobs will you be doing with it?

mainly on tub grinder. and shifting fencing equipment and material with low loader Do a lot of road work with it so 60k is handy. But also some slurry and silage but try stay away from that. 🤣
Even at that spec would still be North of 225k just
Did you get that from Mcnae ?

just north aye. Yeah deal with Mcnaes. Bought last one from them and they have looked after me well.
