My dealer replaced faulty spool couplers under warranty and another local dealer wouldn’t,sounds like they make things up to suit, one things for sure my dealer was excellent.
We always assume main dealers keep everything above board.I know different, things are pretty tight for all of them at the moment.I wouldn’t trust a main dealer any more than the guy that buys out of farm sales to sell on.Especially regarding engine emission equipment 🤐🤐.Aircon has to be part of the warranty for me end of story.

Just to add,IF it’s a normal Fendt warranty. The extended warranty you buy afterwards is sometimes just an insurance policy to cover engine and transmission from expensive failures.

Aircon deffo should be part of the standard manufacturers warranty and if be fairly sure will be. Not defending the dealer but something like an aircon leak could be a simple fix or a complete nightmare and very time consuming and the dealer will only get paid a certain amount of the manufacturer. Effectively your dealer is trying to avoid fixing it as it will likely cost them money to do it.

It sounds like it need nitrogen pressure tested Clive as some are so small they don’t show up under normal circumstances
@Clive definitely this. Nitrogen with trace can be detected with a sniffer, it’s what all OEMs use.
These guys travel all over the country doing dealerships etc. Deal with them myself, very good. Tina: 01935 829550

I’m sure it was 1200 to extend my Valtra warranty up to 5000 hours 5k seems extortionate

It is a fendt.

Had a/c ,on our in warranty Valtra, checked by independent when here doing other vehicles. I had previously checked with dealer if it any issue was it OK to put right, they said yes.

Month later dealer called asking for a invoice for the cost. Was no issues so I covered the cost of the check.

no - we have
Sounds like you could have admitted that it may have been a damage issue rather than a warranty fault?

there is no damage - operator has just been pragmatically getting it re gassed when required as was told it was not covered bu warranty

didn’t sound right to me hence this thread to get others experience

I’m assuming this 5 year warranty is an extension of the one year warranty by an insurance policy? It would have been covered in the first year as part of the manufacturers warranty, unfortunately if this extended warranty (insurance policy) states air con isn‘t covered, it ain’t covered. Had it been regassed by the dealer, then you may have been able to claim some goodwill saying it was there from new.

I fear you may have thrown your hand in by allowing a third party to work on it, if you believed it should have been warranty work?

Fendt warranty is not an insurance policy its a full manufactures warranty , the best there is , Clive is wrong on this one

Re-gassing aircon wouldn’t be classed as “work” I topped mine up,dealer sorted it at a later date.

I wouldn’t say Clive was wrong, more his dealer, your right about the best warranty though.

Shouldn't your complaint be with the ones who are just regassing the system but not sorting the leak? wish I could get away with doing a job like that, never be out of work.

Sorting a leak is major money, could be a days work and some expensive components, top up is cheap 15 min job and if it lasts a year or until Fendt decide they can repair it its the best option.

Many car places offer a gas top up.
