Fendt depreciation per hour

I put €8000 inc vat into my 818 from 6000-10000 hrs. New seat, solinoids, circuit board, basically wear and tear.
I agree with Warksfarmer, these are all potential risks.
I don't think anyone is saying theres no risk. But your 8000 euro's inc vat for 4000 hrs is perhaps still acceptable when compared to depreciation on a newer tractor. I certainly wouldn't want to be putting 1000 hrs a year on an old tractor.

But plenty will only do 300 to 500 a year and have other tractors available. There must be a market for these machines or they wouldn't sell for the price they do.

Is it these guaranteed buy back prices that alter the "on the farm price" for the same tractor for two different buyers, ie with the free buyer getting the lower quote comparable in price with the JD.

Not sure I understand that post however the deal /quotes I had in front of me 4 years ago were as follows IIRC

No px etc straight buy, similar warranty

Fendt 724 profi plus 110k = buy back at 3k hours 3 years old £85k

JD 6210r spec as similar to the 724 but no front linkage £106k - JD wouldn't give me a buy back price at the time

So the 724 was more expensive at the time but not by a lot and that's what we bought, as we felt it would hold value better than the JD and had that buy back as a backstop and budget to work to. At 3yr 3000 hrs we could have dumped it back at the dealers for 85k with no obligation to buy another etc but as the tractor had proved very reliable and still felt fresh etc we decided to keep it and run it 2 year longer to 5000hrs (currently its at 4k). It may end up getting changed at that point or we might decide as we did at 3k hrs that we should keep running it longer

But then add in the vario at 11000 hours and my repair bill does jump a bit.

Sure it was on par with hiring; but if the engine gave up, that tractor would have been like triggers broom!

There’s an awful lot else to go wrong in a tractor than the gearbox and engine. Failed electrics for example can run into thousands to repair. I’d say they’ve been royally shafted and have bought a Fendt because everybody says they are the ‘in thing’.
They are not fanboys by any means.
My point however was that value isn't what someone who doesn't want it think it should be worth, value is what buyers are prepared to pay.

Im sure I was running an 716 about the same time as your 818, I too ran it from 5k to 10k hours I was lucky it just needed a head gasket couple of sensors and a boost diaphragm, it went away on its original vario however the 820 that replaced it has been a pig!!!

no it can’t be - a new 724 full spec profi plus is 135 k to order deliver March 2019

Not sure anone is going to pay 35k more for a 720

If I was to trade a 4K hr 724 (which I’m not as it’s good fir anothe 6k hrs with us yet ) the depreciation would be under £7/hr

So much rubbish is talked about fendt prices, ........ mostly by people that run other brands
Local dealers good. Puts actual prices not poa.

v smart but you wouldnt get far here on the heavy stuff with that toy upfront...
That wouldnt that pull a 3m horsch terrano at 8" deep in the same land neither @ 5mph
200hp min for both jobs & bit of physical weight about the tractor.
Ive got land here that 160hp would pull 8 furrows then stuff thats so diff the same tractor can just manage 4fr
