Fendt varioguide rs232

Hi,

Just wondered if anybody knows if it is possible for varioguide to take / read in rs232 variable rate info and use it to control an isobus device?
I'd also be interested to know if there is an easy way of controlling the rate of an isobus machine using info from a serial device? I've found gen4 jd won't but I think gen3 might?

Thanks

I cannot see how VarioGuide would use rate control info from a serial device.

What serial device would this be? If it feeds instantaneous feed rate, the device would need to be quite intelligent, use a rate map and read it based on the current location info? Location coming from the VarioGuide NMEA feed?

Not familiar with the topic but I've seen Isobus screens that can give a rate control signal to a non-isobus implement, perhaps need to read some jd gen3 manuals on their approach for isobus implements.

It’s a yara n sensor, position etc isn’t important it just sends rate data, frustrating that it will work with a crappy old spinner with a control box but my fandango isobus section control system won’t work with it, my options for tractors are green star gen4 or varioguide and I know gs won’t do it and I wondered if the varioguide would

thanks

I asked a similar question here a few weeks ago and was given this link not sure it applies as I was asking about using an isobus screen linked to a no isobus fert spinner to control vari and section control

If you speak to Clive blacker at Precision decisions, he should be able to sort you, I am fairly sure there is an interface box that can put the N-Sensor onto the ISOBUS and work that way, I haven't had any experience of it but I have spoken to people who have it running this way.
