Lets hope so Adam, people say Camgrain have just been sitting on their tonnage rather than help members sell it when they want to retire.
That has been true in the past when they were trying to sell freshly built new storage, though they were happy to just be the introducing agent between members wishing to trade space between themselves.

Problem common to other Co-op grain stores I should imagine 😉

That was no problem when selling space at Wiltshire Grain many years ago, having built more storage on farm. The space was snapped up by existing members wanting to expand. Got what we paid for it too.

Both my local co-ops (used to be three but two merged) will collect from the field for anyone who phones up and then store what ever they want to send them. What's this buying about?
Do you get paid for your grade, and pay for your own drying should it be necessary, or is everything paid out average a pool?

Don't some drop of bins in the field too?
As far as I know they all do. You have the option of collection from the field at harvest, collection from you own store later on if you want to clean or dry it and delivery yourself.

During harvest we can get bins 7 days a week till 9pm at night.

Do you get paid for your grade, and pay for your own drying should it be necessary, or is everything paid out average a pool?
The price is adjusted according to quality. They will also pay a small premium if you sign up (by area not tonnage) your crops by the end of April so they can work out how much space they will need for different crops at the store.
