Anybody got a preferred brand? Very few slugs here at present, so can’t do a trial, but they can’t be far away.

I have only been reccing Ferric phosphate for near on 5 years as Metaldehyde is just not a good product for the environment/ water supply protection! buy the best value from your preferred supplier!!

Are any more ‘rainfast’ than others? Does FePO4 leach out of the pellet?

I’ve used Derrex and Sluxx. Sluxx is dearer but lasts a lot longer and spreads better.

Sluxx here. Mid range product that has done well for me for years. Ironmaxx pro are dearer but supposed to last longer.

Used sluxx in the past but have brought iron clad this year because they were considerably cheaper. But they are breaking up when spreading and creating more dust, they look to be spreading OK though.

Have used Derrex previously, this year I’m using Daxxos

I feel that the wet process pellets like sluxx are worth the extra. I used to use low doses of meta (3-4kg/ha), but find with ferric Im better using 6-7kg/ha and using a better product once.

Sluxx here too,but just swapped to X-Ecute,like the way the bags open but I think they are a bit softer than Sluxx,only reason there seems to be more broke pellets in the back of the Gator.

Looks like the next few days weather is going to test the waterproofing of the sluxx .wheat just popping through and slimy little buggers taking the top off it so its got to have something

Bloody rape everything wants to eat it and then the slug problem in the following wheat.
Will find out how rainfast the sluxx are today had to put some on a 25 ac patch this am and had an inch on it so far

I mainly use Ironclad, they are I believe, the lowest cost ferric phosphate pellets and work as well as any others in my experience.

Felyn slug pellets been on rape for a week through a weekend of solid rain, and still quite intact. Been using only this product for 3 years and find it really does excel when most products would be washed away.
