Fert and rain

This has been covered before with different opinions but after a couple of dry days the spring barley ground had dried off enough for the soil not to stick to the tyres so I put some fert on, had a dry 24 hours but a bit of rain since. A steady rain at times rather than a cloudburst but will the fert drain through soil easier than on grassland?
