To be fair it came out at £215 (blue bag an) pay Jan, don’t know why you wouldn’t have just ordered itt and been done with it. At the end of the day you know how much you are going to need so just get on and book it.

because many farmers thought it could only drop from that price (based on no evidence, just gut feeling), same with urea at £210, however with china seemingly producing circa 50% less urea and Iranian sanctions taking them out the picture for N is a very firm market this year.

Frontier texted me today to say (frighten me) that all prices going up at end of week.
They usually do at month end ........ key issue is by how much.

Genuine question, how should a merchant convey imminent price rises?

If/When I send a text out to inform people, get the usual just trying to frighten response off some, yet if we didn't and the market went up would be accused of not giving warning. I guess there is no one job fits all.

But considering the messages have been that its going up for nearly the last £100/t you'd have thought it would be useful information, even if you choose not to act on it?

Well good job I didn’t let Frontier frighten me into an order. Other quotes were £8-10 per tonne cheaper

Once you give a consistent steer to your customers, both when it’s going up and going down, as a customer I would consider it very useful information.
Some people never want to believe bad news.

I basically told my fert merchant to bugger off. As I was fed up of constantly being told prices being withdrawn and going up at end of week.

I know if they're going up by posts on here and phone him up when I want to order some. I won't get annoyed when price has risen and he hasn't told me.

Came to a understanding.

As above. Get plenty phone calls saying price is about to rise, you should buy now. Don't recall many many calls saying price has just dropped, do you want to do anything?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
