Looks like it’s going up by £50 a week at the moment.Surely this can’t continue?I have chickened out of hoping for some stabilisation of the market and bought a load of lithan today. I feel completely gutted at having to pay £495 ton!

Not on this farm it won’tSpoke to a friend in the trade today. He expects that £600/t will be broken for UK AN
but the question is can you do without itNot on this farm it won’t
It will be cheaper next yearbut the question is can you do without it
what time next year do you thinkIt will be cheaper next year
yep. plenty of pig fym will be flying about in spring. dropped a 2nd wheat to a spring wheat instead so can use more muckbut the question is can you do without it
fair play to you. do you happen to know the lotto numbers as well.Holy Moley!
At the risk of appearing to be very smug, I bought ours back in June at £266, about £100/t more than the year before. At the time I was very uncertain that I had done the right thing, it would appear it was! At £518 its just under double the price!(£532)
remember we all have bought some fertiliser at reasonable prices compared to the present but we will all have to buy more at some time in the future hopefully all will settle down but these prices are much too dear and if they stayed at these prices we will all be in troubleHoly Moley!

how much more will fertiliser cost per acre at these prices i think it will be 80 pounds in my case spray prices will also rise in northern ireland we still receive single farm payment of about 100£ per acre but if there was no sub margins would be very tight even at 160£ for barleyIf you plant wheat, you're committed to throwing inputs at it. I simply can't cut fert rates and make as much money. Although I'd balk at £600 for AN.
