another handout for the UK's domestic AN producer!

Hope Kwasi Kwarteng knows what he's doing... last time around, it followed a dividend payout to their parent company. This time it coincides with unsecured loan payments due to their parent company.

I bet their gazillionaire CEO, is laughing all the way to the bank

Just getting in practice for when they have to back away from Putin as he turns off that gas tap. Noticed today he promised Hungary a continued supply but thought supplies to Western Europe might be a little erratic. Fun to come. Iron Curtain anyone.

Oh dear. 🔥 💥

Mate. I doubt the accounts of many European Nitrate producers will show a profit for the 21/22 financial year. It looks pretty dire from what I can see across the continent.

Any monies earned whilst there was relatively cheap gas from May/June 2021 has long been spent since September last year.

More importantly, there's no fresh info on whether the domestic AN producer here has secured the necessary CO2 contracts to enable them to co-produce their principal material. Seems more likely that they'll curtail production again from the smoke signals from Westminster.

Having said that, gas prices eased a little this week. Instead of being 5 times higher, it's just 4 times the value from June last year.

Every silver lining has a cloud!
I think they will show massive profits, they put prices up faster than the gas was rising as they had farmers panic buying at whatever the price.

The govt gas just spaffed £5bn on a loan to energy suppliers it will never get back. To cut domestic heat bills by £200.

I estimate UK households food bills will be up rather more. With this in mind, if hm govt wants to give us farmers £5bn in free money, we will see if a deal can be done.

Oh sorry, I'm too busy getting more money from fallowing good land than growing wheat.

The harsh reality in black in white, prices were for Feb delivery in each year.

24-16-0 ......2021 £289 2022 £665
25-7-0 +s....2021 £236 2022 £620
27-0-0 +s....2021 £216 2022 £615

Now , any ideas how to make this go pay gratefully recieved.

It's amazing that it's still available when you talk to the trade over the last 3 months

We've been told the market is flat as nobody is buying. I'll be interested to know if anyone HAS been producing.

Worldwide production and distribution HAS to be at a certain level to be able to move Nitrate onto farms to grow food. As soon as the point is reached where supply cannot meet theoretical demand to produce food supplies - there will be food shortages.

I guess this year MIGHT be covered simply because of on farm stock, but I doubt next year will be.
