Beans are fine for sheep, they crunch them whole, few teeth go though.I’m just going by what feed companies have told me, and why most don’t use beans.
The only place I’ve seen them in concentrates is when they’re cheap and then only by the ‘least cost rationing’ firms.
Arable maybe as it is still affordable for you. Not so for the beefy boys I think. Maybe I’m wrong. This is going to be the best thing for agriculture for a long while, I am beginning to think.

Cattle and pigs are a different matter though.
That's what I'm planning on doingJust wont buy as many cattle if any for grass next summer run the sheep a bit sparcer
I feed beans regularly there a very good feed but yes there is a limit to inclusion
24 meter dribble bar & a flow meter easy to the right contractorThat is the big problem . How are you applying
Maybe this is a reset. I recon Russia and China have sat round the table. Played a blinder. Russia cuts the gas supply. While China says ok we’ll stop exporting urea. Farmers average yield is 6 tonne hectare in the Uk but we get triple the price. Climate is sorted and the regenerative farmers are happy because there the one who have looked after there soils.
Home production is ,indeed,King.Trouble is Boris and Co can't see beyond their nose and want to do trade deals all over the World. We export meat to Asia and New Zealand sends some back.Great for the climateNo, dont be silly, we'll just import it!!! I actually hope the world harvest is very poor next year, then it may bring it home to these deluded MP's that "just in time" just simply doesnt work, and home grown production is king and should be looked after at all costs. Maybe I am the deluded one.......!!
I don't actually know how far you can push it,I frequently feed my milker's 2kgs in the tmr we get some decent yields. What do you think that limit is please?
20 % here works fineWhat do you think that limit is please?
I know of a few round here who fattened bulls on ad lib home grown barley and beans, couldn’t fault the cattle. You’re going to get a top on them when your protein source is also full of starch20 % here works fine

I don’t but they were straightforward types of guys so I assume enough beans to make the ration 14% CP as was standard advice at the time. This was back in the early nineties when dairy bred barley bulls were mainly killed at 11-12 months at 470-500kgDo you know the ratio’s?
If you buy 28 tonnes, do you get an undercover soldier from the SAS thrown in?Protected Urea £785
Yep used to fatten bulls on them. Sold them for the last 2 years as they are a twit to roll. I wasnt going to bother putting any in this year as yeilds were crap this season but with n prices the way they are looks like im going to grow them again and possibly next season mill them.I know of a few round here who fattened bulls on ad lib home grown barley and beans, couldn’t fault the cattle.
