Fertility figures comparison

Do your empties work through into the pregnancy rate also?

I don't know is the answer. I don't really use any of the KPI information that uniform produces so I don't know what time period they're using to calculate the preg rate. I don't see why the empty cows wouldn't be included because they're not marked as barrens so I'm surprised preg rate isn't lower.

Several years ago they said they were working on some block calving KPIs but they haven't appeared yet.

I suppose the beauty of block calving is there’s only 2 fertility KPIs that are really important and they’re easy enough worked out without the aid of a computer package, even preg rate can be worked out when you’ve not got fresh cows dropping into the open group as you’re serving.

Yes but a block Calver can only look back and see what happened.
If an Ayr Calver sees preg rate dropping they can investigate and adjust.
If it goes wrong for a block Calver they will know to late and it will take 3-4years to put right.

We have collar rentals at £3.70 per month plus vat after an initial outlay for antena and box is that too much £3.70 doesn’t seem a lot for 24 hour surveillance on cows. Or am I wrong.
I can see your point on block calving
What would the intial cost of the antenna and box be?

That’s the point when you see what it actually does you will love use in g the equipment
You will find the pedigree boys who use this equipment say it really picks up the silent heats
And they are really on the ball,
The customer quoted to me I thought I was good but this kit showed me what I was missing

I'm just scratching my head about buying the box but then only renting the collars. I can't have the collars without the box so why doesnt the collar price already include the box costs?

Normally I rent something because it's cheaper than buying but I'm paying full cost on this and still not owning it.

For the price you quoted I was hoping it would include semen and cow served. It's the AI tech part I'm struggling with at the minute!
