East wind here is lightest at about 4 pm then seems to pick-up again into the evening.
West wind almost ajways falls light over night.
Leaving it till Monday. At least the ground is drying. Wheat isn’t desparate but barley is.

Supposed to of had heavy showers here today, but apart from 10 mins drizzle this morning, it has been dry.
Rain seems to be disappearing off tomorrow's forecast as well.
All being well, ground should be dryer Monday than it was on Friday despite a showerey weekend forecast

Looks like it’s Terra Tyre Time.
I put mine on Friday, put some Pollysulfate on and a bit of compound on yesterday.Too windy for urea and rain today. It traveled reasonably only the odd wet headland that I made a mess on.

Got ours done last week wheat needed it
but now had a wet day

What wind effect on spread pattern has any one tested
my Scs guy says he is alway surprised how little effect the wind has when he tests spreaders
most people will not test in the wind but when he has had to check spread it is usually less than he would expect

may be we need to do some tests on fields at correct height with measured wind speeds at spreading height

with Spray drift it isthe smaller lighter droplets that drift but these carry the least amount of chemical
same with lime spreading
a lot of fertiliser is even sized so may not be deflected very far at moderate winds

Thankfully I did 2 fields on sat, before rain put things back to square one. Stiff east wind. Only working at 18m. A north/south road with decent hedges splits them; it was a bit white :censored:

Not to worry: westerlies are more common for next time.

It’s awkward now. Like a good lad I stacked the Nitrate at the back behind the base fert. Now it’s getting to the stage where the need for N is more desperate than base P and K but I’d need to move half the heap to get at it.
There’s just no job that’s a pleasure any more. Everything is turned into a fudge and a rush and timings are way out. Absolutely fed up of it.
