spent an hour doing my diary....smilies all over in wrong the places.....one line from finishing somehow whole lot got deleted whilst chasing rogue smiley ....'i'm a fekkin 'artiste' i can't go on??

my point being since the smileys changed it's been a real PIA

posts don’t delete, they save as you type them

When it comes to smilies, Ipads are the way forward! Just use them as you would any other writing platform.
