fiat f series winner tractor

Yes multi g.
New holland will tell you multi f.. No
Multi g is the correct oil. It's expensive but there's no comparison when you start to warm up the back end. I had multi f in mine as recommended by my new holland dealer from his computer. When she warmed up you couldn't get gears and she was noisy.
I ordered a service manual and double checked. Multi f is for the 7840 Ford.
Multi g for the f series Fiat.

Multi G is just another 10w 30 UTTO as is Shell Spirax S6 TXME (used to be Donax TDS). The 40 series used it too...
Multi F would be more suitable for some vintage tractors.

I think multi F is gone and it's just multi G now.
That's great news.. Too much confusion. Multi g is a thicker richer looking oil.
I haven't had to buy it for a while.
Buying oil for the back end of an international is no fun either at 11quid a gallon.. You make sure your O rings are not leaking after a few top ups ?

MUlti-f still available from cnh dealers, all ford tractors up to 40ser used this then multi-g which can be used in the older tractors but i would always use what was specified at the time just remember oils have got better but at the same time most have got thinner...................

could somebody tell me what oil to use in the backend for a f series fiat winner , thanks
the correct oil is multi f. NOT MULTI G the dealers will tell you various things depending on what they have in stock. Fiat f series manual states multi f. End off. Put multi g in and you get brake judder for starters.. I can upload the page..

Is this on the new holland dealership computer or the f series service book. The book is correct the dealership computer is wrong. It's a while since I owned an f series. I know it's the the thicker oil.
On the silage wagon when the oil warmed up the thin oil got extremely hot and gears were difficult to get also the steering made noise. With the thicker oil I had none of these problems.

You have mixed f and g up. Fiat f series uses multi f. As recommended by fiat.

Yes.. But I notice some of the multi f is a 15w 30. It should be 15w 40.
Some one said multi f oil was finished. In that case master gold umbra or the 15w 40 utto is OK. You can get away with a 10w 30 is you are just at light work. On mine with the wagon the back end became so hot that the plastic diesel pipe from the bottom of the tank to the lift pump collapsed where it was sitting on top of the gearbox. The tractor stopped. It took me half a day and a new lift pump to spot the problem.
I changed the oil and changed the pipe to a hydraulic pipe.. Problem solved. Cooler back end and better pipe.

There is nothing thicker than someone that will argue with the manufacturers recommendations. The fact is multi f is what is recommended and therefor should be used. You don't get different grades of the same oil.
