Fibreglass Electric Temporary Electric Fence Posts

I have been paddock grazing yearling cattle for a few years now. I just us a single polywire, and white plastic posts. I was wondering about trying some fibreglass posts with the metal clips, what are peoples opinion on them? do they last longer before becoming brittle/ faded. Do they snap, Had quiet a few plastic ones snap last spring when the ground was so hard.

Yes I've got some of them. Some with plastic spikes and some with metal. I find the plastic spikes best apart from during dry spells when its hard to get them in our ground. The metal spikes are hardly thick/ strong enough.
Don't like the intermediate clips at all. They have tendency to slide on the post. First ones we had they had to replace as they were so loose the slid down straight away.
Fine for cattle, though a bit fiddly putting wire in and out the clip. But they are strong, and I like them for cows who like to push stakes over, as they tend to spring back and teach them a lesson 😀

Cattle do learn to push the plastic posts over. The posts with double sided feet stand better, than the posts with a foot on one side. Are the fibreglass posts better at standing.

The fibreglass posts are better, though not completely foolproof. The plastic foot ones are best - the post flexes when they push on it, then flicking back at them. Those with a metal foot will bend where the metal joins the plastic, and is all too easy to bend back to straight - hence my comment about it being too lightweight. Ordinary plastic posts don't flex like the fibreglass.

Do you know anyone else who supplies the above fibreglass posts? Seems people are having problems with voss currently!

Sorry, none other than the kiwi tech ones in Ffermer bach's link, which look rather dear compared to the voss ones. I suspect there may well be better quality reflected in that additional price however?

Bit of googling found these too. Same as voss it seems.

In the end I bought some metal pigtail posts. So far they are working well. They have a two pronged foot like a h and a fare bit of spring in them.

I wouldn't use anything but Kiwitech or some thing the same now. I'm debating selling/dumping all my existing gear and replacing it with Kiwitech stuff.
